Work gloves, I use them everyday, they are the typical yellow kind with the white leather fingers and palms, and the yellow with blue stripes cuffs. It just so happens that I hate the cuff parts and when ever I get a new pair I inevitably cut the cuff off. If they have lining in them I usually yank the linings out as well. I also use my gloves for months, until they are worm out, beyond any reasonable use. black and soft, torn up. Once these gloves get wet they are useless. everyone else will just go to stores and get a new pair. not me, i wring them out and dry them off and hope for the best. I like em this way. used and abused. Nobody else even comes close to displaying this kind obsesive behavior.
Then I came across this passage in a book called "lonesome Traveller", written by J. Kerouac and published in 1960.

Finally, someone who understands.

"I resolved to get all my other gloves from the ground and so went for weeks with my black hand clutching sticky cold iron of engines in the dewy cold night, till i finally found the first glove outside the San Jose yard office., a brown cloth glove with red Mephistophelean lining, picking it up limp and damp from the ground and smashed on my knee and let it dry and wore it.---Final other glove found outside Watsonville yard office, a little leather imitation outside glove with warm inside warm lining and cut with scizzors or razor at the wrist to facillitate putting it on and obviate yanking and yunking.--These were my gloves..."

so i was thinking ab the show last night, i left out some cool things. i was hoping to find a clip of nardwuar crowd surfing WHILE PLAYING HIS KEYBOARD., not up yet, i'm sure it will show though. however, i did find some of andrew wk. set. you can see that everyone is having fun in the vid, but then i noticed something very familiar, the back of my head!you can't miss it, it's in the forground for most of the vid. black t, shiny bald head half covered by brown poorboy cap. bottom right corner. wow, i'm on youtube, and i didn't even put myself there. i've arrived...

once again, thanks to billy bones.

went to see the vicious cycles http://www.myspace.com/vcmc69, the evaporators and andrew w.k. at the biltmore tonight. thanks to billy for the hook up, the vicious cycles motorcycle club were rad as usual. tight and loud. they are one of thoses bands that sounds batter the louder they play. and the evaporators fronted by the man, the myth, the narduar, the human serviette.(narduar.com), and andrew w.k. whom i wouldn't go out of my way to see, but it was entertaining. he played with canned music and was actaully supposed to be on jimmy kimmel tonight but turned it down to come up here for a release party for a new c.d he's put out in conjunction with the evaporators. so anyways, alot of beer was sprayed wround, and parts of the cieling were ripped down, and a girl tried to kick this dudes ace, and almost did but his buddy dragged him to safety. fun times. the vicious cycles are on my blog role, and the evaporators will be, but for now, youtube. sweet.

went to this show last nite. The Nervous Fellas are a rockabilly act from vancouver. Not to be confused with the nervous fellas from sweden or someplace like that. They've been around for awhile, this was their 21 year reunion show or something lik that. it was awesome. down at the rickshaw theater, in the middle of renovations. it is all bare concrete walls but you can tell that it could have been a great place. tall ceilings, balcony, the potential for a great venue. anywhos, back to the show. ron hayward on the stand up. this guy has lived hard. look at his mellow style. the other bands were the dedcats, and swank. didn't see the dedcats, but swank was great.

So it's been awhile and i've been looking around and thinking of ideas of something to post that wouldn't be completely lame. that's why it's taken so long. most of my ideas are, well, lame. but i found this video. i think it works. it's not lame.
p.s. just listen to these two guys voices. The baritone Cash and the soul dripping Ray Charles. crazy!

managed to get outta town on friday night for a sorta impromptu getaway. slapped together, surf trip on the smallest of small scale. overnight. get off work, get some pals and get running for the border. down the I-5 for a couple hours and turn left. It rained, it was cold, and we had new guys with us, so it was a little sedate. but nonetheless, it was good to get gone. 13-15 foot swells.

typical rock and roll band pose for the the back of the new album....why?

high, and low...

man, sometimes you wonder just what and why the fuck shit happens. well, actaully, i know why, but knowing doesn't make it any easier. it was one of those days. i usually try to reserve my snivilling to my own head, although i'm not very good at hiding my displeasures at anything. i guess today was the balance of life right before my own eyes.contrast, the best and the worst... It started out great, my buddy and his wife had a baby boy this morning! they're a wicked cool couple and the kid is gonna have a great life. then a couple hours later i checked my facebook (like you checked yours), and read the status of another friend, not so close, but a friend nonetheless. it read: "i miss my gracie, grace passed away this morning"....grace is his daughter, she's about a year old or so and suffered some difficulties from birth. i forget the terms, enlarged ventricles in the brain. geez. one birth, one death, same morning. how am i drawn into this? my wife was the the doula for the first couple who had the baby boy, and as for baby grace, when we found out that we were pregnant with our daughter we learned that she had the same issues as grace. however, our daughter was born perfectly healthy and all that. when we found out that grace's folk were about to go down the same road we tried to encourage them and let them know that there is hope. now what do i say?
I still believe in hope, i believe there is a positive behind this. I hope they do. they are awesome encouraging, and inspiring folks. it still sucks greasy balls though.

so i 've been looking for a project for a while now. finally found something that's gonna work. i scored a little motosikle to work on. it was destined (on it's way ) to the crusher when i got hold of it. i've wanted a project bike for awhile and now have it. an 81 honda cm 400. a small bike, but being a 400 it will be cheaper to insure. it is pretty much a basket case, but i like the idea of making it into something sweet. it's totally not the type of bike that people "fix up", but that's just another reason to do it. here is a pic of what the bike looks like, sort of. this is a generic pic, but the color is the same and you get the idea. when i got the bike it had no seat and didn't run.i think it had been stolen and it has no reggie papers. so the first step is to get it registered. then on with the show.

it's all apart now and looks like this;

here we go.
